Jason Ho - Songwriter/ Artist Ukulele and Percussion
The music began
I never saw myself as a songwriter or composer although I was definitely an enthusiast. I listed to all types of music jazz, world, fusion, rock, classical reggae, r&b, blues and more. I started playing drums and percussion for fun to jam with others that pretty much where it stayed. I went to college in San Francisco got busy with that and dropped the drumming. After school I worked in the financial world did that for about 10 yrs. I had my own company and unfortunately got involved with some partners who were not the most honest people, I got cheated and lost everything my house, business and lifestyle. During this time of losing everything I caught insomnia. As a way to relax, to try an put myself to sleep I picked up my uke, I used to do this back in college before a big exam when all of a sudden while strumming words started to come. I experienced tremendous joy I must of wrote all night. I then was able to sleep something was telling me this is what I should do. The music had somehow healed me since then I have written over 80 songs and continue to write and compose. This is what I plan on doing hopefully for the rest of my life.
"Tropic Dreams" is my first album, my goal is to share a positive feeling with people hopefully the music will soothe and heal them as it has done for me.
